American Academy Of Martial Arts
This was my first experience at an establishment of this genre. I am not athletic at all!! I purchased a Groupon for kickboxing at an awesome price. I was extremely nervous about my abilities and skills. Let me tell you that all vanished the moment I walked in! I was greeted with smiles and immediately offered assistance. The process was clearly explained and I felt very comfortable. The music was jammin' & I just jumped right in. The instructors are very interactive and move freely throughout the class so all students get that connection. Advanced students are quick to give pointers and assistance. The energy is amazing and positive. I initially went for the trial offer after my experience I will remain here long term. Did I mention my 17 yr old son takes the class with me....and he looks forward to us going!!! The pride, honor, respect and family values is quite evident here!
Tried out the LivingSocial deal - 20 classes for a measly $35. You really can't pass up that option, plus American Academy is only 5 minutes from my work so it is a great way to workout right after a long stressful day in the office.
It is a family owned business, a couple and their two younger children run the studio. THey offer a great cardio class, with upbeat music and an "on-the-go", "whip-your-booty-into-shape" kinda vibe. Don't worry about not having a martial arts background, because they focus more on cardio and conditioning your body with upper body strength exercises. If you don't understand something, the instructors will most definitely step in to help.
If you're trying to drop a couple of those holiday LB's, they maybe you should consider American Academy.. putting it simply, the workout works!
I was introduced to American Academy of Martial Arts through a Groupon for 10 kickboxing classes with gloves for $25. This is one of the best values I have gotten from a Groupon, and I am planning on continuing to attend the kickboxing classes after my Groupon is over.
I have never taken a kickboxing class before. My friend and I were greeted by Wyatt who was friendly and had no problems answering all of our questions. Kami has been the instructor for most of the classes I have taken, and she is great at keeping up the energy in the room. The workouts include bag work, crunches, push ups, jumping jacks, squats, planks, and drills with hand weights. This is a great class that works for all fitness levels.
The music that plays during the class really gets you pumped up for an intense workout. The workouts always vary so it is never boring. For a good portion of the class you will be doing partner work, so try the class with a friend.
I was introduced to American Academy of Martial Arts by a Groupon deal for kick-boxing classes. As a frequent kick-boxer, the classes were intense!! I loved it. You have to be prepared to warm-up on your own before the class. It is not a traditional class where they will teach you the proper techniques of kicking and punching, so you should know that going in. The instructor jumps right into the class. You do all sorts of kicks and punches. No two classes are the same, which is great to prevent boredom. This is a family owned business and the staff are very nice. I plan to renew my membership so that I can continue the kickboxing.
Absolutely love this studio - can't say enough good things. Family owned and run business, spacious facility, personalized attention for all levels.
